Scrumptious Shines at Canterbury on 30 January 2026

Canterbury, NSW — Talented filly Scrumptious delivered an impressive victory at Canterbury on Friday, 30 January 2026, stamping herself as a rising star with a strong performance over 1250 metres.

Prepared by leading trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and ridden with confidence by Tim Clark, Scrumptious settled beautifully throughout the race before producing a powerful turn of foot in the home straight to surge past her rivals and claim a well-deserved win.

Clark positioned the filly perfectly just behind the early leaders, conserving energy through the middle stages before finding clear running approaching the turn. Once balanced up, Scrumptious quickened sharply, drawing away over the final 200 metres to score decisively and leave her opposition chasing.

The victory was made even more special for connections, with Emirates Park Stud part-owners in the talented filly. Scrumptious represents a successful pinhook for the Hunter Valley operation, having been purchased as a weanling for $105,000 before being expertly prepared and presented at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, where she was knocked down for $350,000 to the powerful buying team of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott alongside YES Bloodstock.

Adding further significance to the win, Scrumptious is by Tassort, the exciting young sire owned by Emirates Park Stud in partnership with Newgate Stud. Tassort continues to make his mark with quality runners on the track, and Scrumptious’s Canterbury success adds to his growing list of winners.

The Canterbury victory highlights Emirates Park’s continued success both on the racetrack and in the breeding shed, showcasing their ability to identify, develop and race top-class thoroughbreds.

With her natural ability now translating to race-day results, Scrumptious looks poised to progress through the grades and tackle stronger company in the months ahead.
