The two-state Emirates Park operation is the vision of His Excellency Nasser Lootah, a Dubai-based businessman introduced to Australian thoroughbred racing and breeding during the mid-eighties…

His Excellency Nasser Lootah’s initial venture into the domestic industry was the purchase of a long-established thoroughbred property located in the historic township of Blandford, just south of Murrurundi along the New England Highway in the Upper Hunter Valley. Previously known as Blandford Park Stud, the property had been home to a succession of successful stallions including Twig Moss (Fr), the Champion Sire of Australia in 1985/86.

The Emirates Park operation became a two-state outfit when His Excellency Nasser Lootah purchased the famed Stockwell Stud property of Diggers Rest, Victoria. Previously owned by the eminent Cox family, Stockwell Stud once housed Showdown (GB), a hugely successful imported stallion which proved to be the leading sire in Australia in seasons 1975/76 and 1977/78, producing the STC Golden Slipper Stakes winner Tontonan among a host of top-liners.

In a relatively short space of time, Emirates Park has gained a reputation for breeding outstanding racetrack performers which have not only distinguished themselves in the red, blue and white livery of His Excellency Nasser Lootah, but also for a host of lucky owners based both locally and overseas. These include the likes of Shamekha, Dash For Cash, Elegant Fashion and County Tyrone, racehorses which were conceived, foaled and reared at the stud before triumphing at the highest level of thoroughbred competition.
