First Foal for Mutawaajid
JULY 28, 2010: The first foal of dual Group 2 winning sprinter Mutawaajid has safely been delivered at Emirates Park, Murrurundi, with the Halo-line broodmare Arrays giving birth to a handsome bay colt.
Born on the morning of Wednesday, July 28, nominations manager Bryan Carlson reported that the youngster was very much like what is expected of the new Mutawaajid breed, with good size and scope very typical of the Redoute’s Choice branch of the Danehill (USA) sireline.
Dam of the Mutawaajid foal is a lightly-raced daughter of Reassure (USA) from the imported mare Letsdancetilldawn (USA). This prominent North American female family boasts four major Group 1 winners in its first few removes, including the Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner Pennekamp and the Curragh 2000 Guineas winner Black Minnaloushe.
Mutawaajid covered close on 100 mares in his first stud season including a small selection of the Australian Stud Book’s most prized producers. Among his 2009 partners were the dams of Group 1 winners Elegant Fashion, Dash For Cash and Mnemosyne, as well as half-sisters to Group 1 winners Sports, Bel Esprit, Clangalang and Aerosmith.
The announcement of the 2010 Emirates Park service fees witnessed Mutawaajid reduced in price from his introductory season. He stands his second year at stud at just $7,700 (inc GST). |
