Overseas success for Al Samer
MAY 3, 2010: Al Samer was responsible for a winner in South Korea over the weekend when Choegouigippeum (2c, Al Samer-Queen Of Wisdom, by Stravinsky) opened-up his winning account.
A $16,000 purchase at the 2009 Magic Millions Horses-in-Training Sale staged on the Gold Coast last October, the first-crop son of Al Samer was offered on account of Patinack Farm and knocked down to Magic Millions as agent.
Choegouigippeum is the first foal of a twice-raced daughter of Stravinsky hailing from the family of Nastique, a four-time US Grade 1 winner whose own progeny include the Japanese Group 1 winner Nobo True.
Al Samer’s first 2-year-old runners in Australia this season feature the Tamworth winner Custom Design. In addition, the likes of Magnetosphere, Mr Chard, Sam I Am, Al Sumai and Valsamer have all earned prizemoney.
Al Samer is set to cover his fifth season at stud in 2010 at a service fee of $7,700 (inc. 10% GST).
