Serious Speed to visit Al Maher

SEPTEMBER 16, 2009: The connections of Serious Speed have confirmed that the Group 1 winning daughter of Royal Academy (USA) will be covered by Al Maher in her first season at stud.
The winner of over $933,000 in stakes, Serious Speed won the Group 1 The Thousand Guineas at Caulfield in October 2007. She also claimed the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes in Sydney the following autumn, and more recently landed the Group 3 Queen of the South Stakes on her home track at Morphettville.
Emirates Park’s newly appointed nominations manager Bryan Carlson confirmed that the mare’s connections have made a booking to Al Maher for their outstanding broodmare prospect.
The decision comes just a few days after the Listed Lindsay Park Guineas success of Majestic Music, a daughter of Al Maher raced in the same ownership as Serious Speed. Regal Flute, the dam of Majestic Music, is a full-sister to Serious Speed.
Carlson also confirmed that Regal Flute is booked into Al Maher for the 2009 breeding season in an attempt to breed a full-brother or full-sister to Majestic Music.
Majestic Music is bred on the same Danehill-Royal Academy cross as the former champion sprinter and outstanding young sire Fastnet Rock. She carries two lines of Nijinsky, through Al Maher’s maternal grand-dam Dancing Show (USA) and the aforementioned Royal Academy. |
