SECRET
SAVINGS STOCK FIGHTING
FIT FEBRUARY
2008: For the fifth-sixth
consecutive week of action
staged on a Sydney metropolitan
weekend program, Emirates Park
stalwart sire Secret Savings
(USA) has featured in no uncertain
terms. Last Saturday’s
racecard staged at Randwick
not only witnessed the prolific
son of Seeking The Gold to
the forefront as the sire
of a notable winner, but
also as the sire of the sire
of one of the stars of the
day.
Secret
Savings’ stakes
winning son Fighting
Fund (6g, Secret Savings-Forglow,
by Forest Glow) proved
to be the latest Sydney
Saturday winner for
his sire when finishing
best in the $60,000
Open Handicap staged
over 1200 metres. Having
his first outing since
last September and only
his second since December
2006, the handsome
chestnut
gelding came from well
back in the field with
a powerful late finish
to post the eighth victory
of his distinguished
career.
Earlier
on the same Randwick
card, Bank Robber maintained
his unbeaten record
with an easy victory
over 1400 metres to
take his record to
three-from-three. This
immensely promising
3-year-old is a paternal
grandson of Secret
Savings through the
promising young stallion
Dash For Cash (Gr.
1998,
Secret Savings-Gulistan,
by Rubiton), winner
of the VRC Australian
Guineas and VATC Futurity
Stakes in 2002.
Since
the beginning of the
New Year, Secret Savings
has been represented
by Cent Per Cent, No
Name For A Lady, Swissac,
Wave The Dollar and
Fighting Fund, all
which have saluted
the judge in Sydney.
Furthermore,
immediate sons Cent
Per Cent and Viatorian
have won in 3-year-old
black-type company
and placed in 3-year-old
Group company respectively,
while paternal grandson
Bank Robber appears
to be a certain 3-year-old
stakes winner in the
making. |
