Al Maher yearlings sell to NZ$170,000

JANUARY 2008: The first yearlings by Al Maher to be offered in 2008 sold to NZ$170,000 at the latest renewal of the annual New Zealand National Yearling Sale staged at Karaka on January 28-29.

One of four members of Al Maher’s first yearling crop, Lot 334 ex Royal Kiss fetched the handsome six-figure sum when purchased by Equine & Livestock of Hamilton, New Zealand, out of the consignment presented by Cressfields Ltd.

In total, all four Al Maher yearlings offered at Karaka ’08 were successfully sold at an average of NZ$93,750, with other buyers including Laurie Laxon and a representative of the Bart Cummings stable.
