SON
OF DANEWIN A STAR OVER FENCES
JUNE ’08:
A
prominent member of the Danewin
breed is currently regarded
as Australia's most exciting
jumper with Group 1 Classic
winner Toulouse Lautrec now
leading the way over fences.
At
his last two assignments in
Victoria, Toulouse Lautrec
has won the $151,000 Trevor
Clarke Steeplechase and $101,500
Australian Steeplechase, the
former by racing off the pace
and latter by lead all the
way. The talented grey's two
previous outings saw him win
on both occasions by a collective
winning margin of some 35
lengths.
Toulouse
Lautrec is one of four Group
1 Derby or Oaks winners sired
by Danewin. The 7-seven-year-old
gelding won the QTC Queensland
Derby in his Classic year,
a race that was also won by
County Tyrone, another high-profile
son of Danewin.
The
current racing season is witnessing
Danewin feature in a number
of different forms of competition
and capacities. His high-class
4-year-old son Theseo starred
on the valuable Magic Millions
card during March, winning
the $500,000 BMW Classic over
1400m. In addition, Danewin
is the sire of the dams of
2007/08 stakes winners Acorns,
About Face and Bundle O'Gold.
Toulouse
Lautrec races in the colours
of Hobartville Stakes, as
did Danewin's Group 2 winning
sprinter-miler Salgado. |
