WIN FOR HOMEBRED

and white colours of His Excellency
Nasser Abdullah Hussain Lootah
were seen in the winner's
enclosure following the running
of the Listed STC W.J. McKell
Cup (2400m) when Luvuleo scored
by a length and a half in
the Sydney winter feature.
A
home-bred son of Galileo (Ire)
from the Emirates Park resident
mare Luvscay, Luvuleo is enjoying
his most productive campaign
to date, having also won the
prestigious Albury Cup in
April. Luvuleo is now the winner
of three races, from 1200
to 2400m, and over $260,000
in earnings from just 20 starts.
A
notable performer as a juvenile,
Luvuleo finished second in
the $351,000 AJC Inglis Classic
as well as third in the Listed
ACT Black Opal Stakes, before
getting within two lengths
of Excites in the 2006 AJC
Sires' Produce Stakes at Group
1 level.
Luvuleo
is now expected to take his
chance in the Group 2 QTC
Brisbane Cup over 2400 metres,
to be staged
on June 9 at Eagle Farm. |
