CUP WIN FOR HOMEBRED

JUNE ’08: The distinctive red, blue and white colours of His Excellency Nasser Abdullah Hussain Lootah were seen in the winner's enclosure following the running of the Listed STC W.J. McKell Cup (2400m) when Luvuleo scored by a length and a half in the Sydney winter feature.

A home-bred son of Galileo (Ire) from the Emirates Park resident mare Luvscay, Luvuleo is enjoying his most productive campaign to date, having also won the prestigious Albury Cup in April. Luvuleo is now the winner of three races, from 1200 to 2400m, and over $260,000 in earnings from just 20 starts.

A notable performer as a juvenile, Luvuleo finished second in the $351,000 AJC Inglis Classic as well as third in the Listed ACT Black Opal Stakes, before getting within two lengths of Excites in the 2006 AJC Sires' Produce Stakes at Group 1 level.

Luvuleo is now expected to take his chance in the Group 2 QTC Brisbane Cup over 2400 metres, to be staged on June 9 at Eagle Farm.
