THIRD
STRAIGHT STAKES VICTORY FOR
SWISS ACE April
'08: Swiss Ace (3c, Secret
Savings-Rapid Serve,
by Carson City) posted
his third consecutive
black-type victory when
defeating Brisbane's finest
open-class sprinters to take
the Group 2 QTC Sir Byrne
Hart Stakes (1200m).
Winner
of the Listed BTC Chief
de Beers Quality (1110m)
and Listed Toowoomba
Weetwood Handicap (1200m)
at his previous two outings,
the 3-year-old son of
Secret Savings was opposed
by the likes of Mitanni,
Roman Squire and La Montagna
but did best in the feature
sprint traditionally
staged on the eve of the
Queensland
Winter Carnival.
Swiss
Ace is now the winner
of nine races from 11
starts and has accrued
over $350,000 for his
connections after having
been purchased for just
$6,000 as a yearling.
The talented colt also
placed second in the
Listed BTC Vo Rogue Plate
(LR) in one of only two
outings he has not saluted
the judge.
The
prestigious Group 2 QTC
Sir Byrne Hart Stakes
(1200m) is proving to
be a good race for the
progeny of Emirates Park
resident stallions. In
last year's renewal,
Danewin's brilliant sprinting
son Mitanni won from
Anwaar,
a notable stakes winner
by Secret Savings.
